While intelligent buildings were a hot topic during the mid and late 90’s in India, very few people understood the real 'under the hood' workings of an intelligent infrastructure. Most intelligent infrastructures were limited to installing standalone HVAC and lighting systems, redundant power supply, wired/wireless communication facilities etc. Building true intelligence was hampered by a lack of vision, appreciation of the huge advances in communication, network and allied technologies and most importantly, the understanding of ‘people’ that habitat such structures.
